BEREA − The Browns have elevated defensive tackle Roderick Perry II and linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk from the practice squad to the gameday roster for Sunday's home opener against the New York Jets.
Perry's elevation may be a signal that rookie Perrion Winfrey will not be available for the game. Coach Kevin Stefanski said Winfrey missed Friday's practice for undisclosed team disciplinary reasons, and declined to answer if he would play Sunday.
Perry is an undrafted rookie out of Illinois. He'll wear No. 64.
Kunaszyk, who will wear No. 51, was on the gameday roster for last week's game at Carolina. He played 22 special-teams snaps.
Kunaszyk has appeared in 27 career games. He is in his fourth NFL season.
Both players will return to the practice squad on Monday.
Browns' John Johnson III and Taven Bryan, Panthers' Brian Burns fined by NFL
Three players from the Browns-Panthers season opener were fined by the league this week for penalties in the game.
Browns defensive tackle Taven Bryan was fined $15,914 for his hit on quarterback Baker Mayfield in the end zone during the first quarter. Safety John Johnson III was fined $21,218 for his unnecessary roughness flag when he horse-collared Christian McCaffrey on his big gain on a fourth-quarter screen pass.
The Panthers' Brian Burns was fined $15,914 for his roughing the pass penalty against Jacoby Brissett on the first play of Cleveland's game-winning drive.
